Vav
“…and their faces were not ashamed.”
Psalms 34:5b (34:6b Hebrew)
Introduction
- In the last lesson we saw the fifth stanza’s 8 verses begin with dalet – showing that we must choose between the way of lying or the Way of Truth. There is only one door, one dalet.
Vav: Vivouni = “Let (it) Come” (Verses 41-48)
- vav = secure, add, hook, to bind together
- Picture = tent peg, nail, hook
- Spelling = vav-vav
- Value = 6
- Sound = v, u, o
- Meaning = G-d’s gives security and binds us to Himself. Every column in a Torah scroll begins with a vav. By the “vav” are the curtains of the tabernacle (Word) held.
- This stanza shows us the security of G-d’s lovingkindness and Word.
