Lesson Thirteen
The Orders Aaron and Malki-Tzedek - Contrast and Compare
For if He [Yeshua] were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the Torah; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said ‘See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.’

Introduction
- Last week we looked at the purpose of the Tabernacle/Temple, and we saw how it related to Sinai.
- The Tabernacle’s singular purpose – so that the Almighty could dwell among us.
- G-d is still dangerous. The Tabernacle/Temple had protocols. It had every increasing levels of sanctity.
- We saw that salvation has different levels in Scripture. It starts with temporal and moves to the eternal.
- In looking at the High Priesthood of Yeshua, it is important to look at the priestly order of Aaron and see the contrasts, and comparison.
Replacing the Aaronic Order?
- Gen 29:31-34: Levi: to join or attach.
- Ex 40:12-15: Anointing an everlasting priesthood.
- Lev 24:89-9: Perpetual, everlasting.
- Num 25:10-12: Pincas, a covenant of peace. An everlating priesthood.
- Heb 8:4: The High Priesthood of Yeshua does not annul a previous covenant – it does not annul the promise to Aaron and Pinchas. It is for a different domain.
- Malki-Tzedek preceded Aaron – Aaron was not a replacement for Malki-Tzedek, and Malki-Tzedek (Yeshua’s Priesthood) does not replace Aaron.
Contrasts, and Comparisons
- 2:17-18: Compare. Human, merciful, and faithful – able to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
- 4:14: Contrast. Yeshua passed through the heavens.
- 4:15: Contrast. Yeshua is without sin.
- 5:1: Compare. Taken (pr tense) from among men. Appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices.
- 5:2: Compare. Can have (pr tense) compassion on men.
- 5:3: Contrast. Aaron offers (pr tense) for his own sin.
- 5:4: Compare. Called (pr tense) by G-d.
- 5:6: Compare. Eternal priesthood.
- 6:19-20: Compare. Enters (pr tense) behind the veil.
- 7:3: Contrast. Yeshua a Priest forever – no death.
- 7:5: Contrast. Malki-Tzedek received tithes (in effect) from Aaron. Not from Aaron’s order.
- 7:7: Contrast. Malki-Tzedek/Yeshua = better.
- 7:20: Contrast. Aaron not made priest by an oath.
- 7:23: Contrast. Each of Aaron died, ending their own priesthood.
- 7:25: Contrast. Yeshua saves to the uttermost.
- 8:2: Contrast. Yeshua serves in the Heavenly Tabernacle.
- 8:3: Compare. Appointed (pr tense) to offer gifts and sacrifices.
- 8:4: Contrast. Yeshua is not a Priest on earth – already priests here (pr tense). By implication, Aaron’s order is not a priest in the Heavenly Tabernacle.
- 8:6: Contrast. Yeshua’s is better, a more perfect ministry.
- 9:9: Contrast. Aaron cannot make perfect. (“were offered” – wrong – pr tense – “are offered”)
- 9:11: Contrast. Yeshua serves in the greater more perfect Tabernacle.
- 9:12: Contrast. Yeshua entered by His own blood – obtaining eternal redemption.
- 9:28: Contrast. Yeshua enters with sacrifice once.
- 10:11: Contrast. Aaron ministers (pr tense) daily, repeatedly.
Summary
- By reading the tenses alone through these passages, one is struck the incredible bias the translators have displayed. In nearly every English version, the translators’ theology demanded that they change the tense to make it appear that the High Priesthood of Aaron is a past thing. Without exception, this is not the case.
- Aaron/Pinchas’ Priesthood is valid and eternal, in its domain.
- Yeshua’s High Priesthood predates Aaron’s. It is eternal, and because He lives it is personally perpetual.
- Yeshua’s ministry is in a different domain, and is better it has eternal consequence.
